Youth Social Advocacy Team (YSAT) is a refugee-led non-profit, non-governmental Organization whose core mandate is supporting conflict affected youth by tackling access barriers to quality education, sustainable Livelihoods and addressing root causes of violent conflicts for refugees and vulnerable host communities in Uganda.
YSAT is legally registered with the National Bureau for Non -Governmental Organizations Reg. REGR152704213NB as a Regional NGO to operate in Uganda’s refugee hosting districts in West Nile, South West & Urban Kampala. Our 2030 Country Strategic Framework is anchored on 4 core programs: saving lives, protecting communities, building resilience and transforming lives among displaced populations particularly YOUTH
PROGRAMME BACKGROUND.
YSAT received funding from DANIDA to implement a multiyear program, titled “Uganda Refugee Resilience Initiative (URRI)” in a consortium led by Save the Children (SC) together with AVSI, World Vision, UGANET, KRC, and RIL. The program goal is to ‘contribute to enhanced climate resilience of women, men, and youth in refugee and host communities and promote inclusive, cohesive, and environmentally sustainable development in refugee-affected areas in line with local priorities. The program is being implemented in Adjumani District (Lot 3) using multiple approaches, including the Graduation Approach- a proven model to alleviate extreme poverty.
Purpose of the position:
YSAT is seeking to recruit suitably qualified personnel for the position of Community Based Facilitators, to contribute to the implementation of the CSA and Environmental and Sustainable Natural Resources management Component of the URRI project targeting refugees and host populations in Adjumani district. The position holder will support the effective implementation of project activities at community level through mobilization, sensitization, registration, monitoring, and supervision of project participants. The role focuses on strengthening community engagement, supporting climate-smart agriculture and livelihood interventions, ensuring active participation of beneficiaries in group activities, and promoting sustainable farming, savings, and life skills practices. The position will also contribute to data collection, reporting, accountability to affected populations, and continuous learning during project implementation. Reporting to the Project Officer, the successful candidates will be based in the sub-county/settlement of Adjumani district.
