Our Programs
Youth Social Advocacy Team will implement its projects through 7 programmes, working in partnership with existing community-based structures, including Local Leadership, Sub County and District Local Development/Community Services departments, community-based organizations, Youth Networks, Office of Prime Minister, Humanitarian & Development Partners and funding Agencies. Peace & Governance Programme
Goal 1: Promote peace, good governance, and sustainable development for displaced communities to address the root causes of conflict, strengthen institutions, and support inclusive decision-making processes.
Specific Objectives
Conflict Prevention and Resolution: Prevent the outbreak of violence and resolve existing conflicts by promoting dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation between different groups or communities focusing on addressing the underlying causes of conflict, such as inequality, discrimination, or resource scarcity.
Strengthening Institutions: strengthen governance institutions at various levels, including local, regional, and national, to ensure their effectiveness, transparency, and accountability through capacity building, training, and providing technical assistance to local government bodies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
Promoting Democratic Participation: promote greater citizen participation in decision-making processes, including leadership processes, policy formulation, implementation and initiatives that enhance civic education, and the involvement of marginalized groups, such as women, youth, and minority communities.
Human Rights and Rule of Law: promote and protect human rights, including civil, social, and economic rights to strengthen the rule of law, access to justice, and legal frameworks that safeguard human rights including advocacy on the rights of vulnerable groups and combating corruption.
Social and Economic Development: foster sustainable development by addressing socio-economic inequalities and promoting inclusive growth and initiatives that enhance livelihood opportunities, access to basic services, and economic empowerment, particularly for marginalized communities.
Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: build sustainable peace and promote reconciliation in societies affected by violence or conflict through community-based initiatives that promote dialogue, trust-building, and social cohesion among different groups, including victims and perpetrators of violence.
- Advocacy and Policy Influence: engage in advocacy and policy dialogue to influence local, national, regional and international policies related to peace, governance, and development to create an enabling environment for positive change, mobilize resources, and promote evidence-based approaches to peacebuilding and good governance.
Food Security and Resilient Livelihood
Goal 2: Alleviate Poverty, hunger, malnutrition and inequality by promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing food production and distribution systems to improve household livelihoods of vulnerable communities.

Education In Emergencies Programs
Goal 3: Provide access to quality education, well-being and development of children and youth affected by emergencies such as war, natural disasters, or displacement to rebuild their lives and contribute to the development of their communities.
Specific Objectives
Access to Education: Children and youth affected by emergencies have equitable access to safe, inclusive, and quality education by reaching out to marginalized and vulnerable groups, such as girls, children with disabilities, and displaced populations.
Emergency Response and Preparedness: Establish systems and mechanisms to respond effectively to educational needs during emergencies by developing contingency plans, providing temporary learning spaces, and delivering immediate educational support to affected populations.
Curriculum and Pedagogy: Adapt and develop appropriate curriculum materials that are relevant to the context and needs of the affected population by integrating psychosocial support, life skills training, and peace education into the curriculum.
Teacher Training and Support: Build the capacity of teachers and education personnel to deliver quality education in emergency situations by providing training on trauma-informed teaching approaches, inclusive education practices, and psychosocial support.
Child Protection: Promote a safe and protective learning environment for children and youth affected by emergencies. This involves implementing child protection measures, identifying and addressing protection risks, and preventing and responding to incidents of violence, exploitation, and abuse.
Community Engagement and Participation: Foster community involvement and ownership in the education process. This includes engaging parents, caregivers, and community leaders in decision-making, mobilizing community resources, and establishing partnerships with local stakeholders.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish robust monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the impact and effectiveness of the EiE program. This involves tracking educational outcomes, identifying gaps and challenges, and using data to inform programmatic improvements and advocacy efforts.

This includes raising awareness about the importance of education in emergencies, influencing policy frameworks, and mobilizing resources for sustained funding and support
Emergency Response Programs
Goal 4: Provide immediate assistance to save lives, alleviate suffering, and support recovery and resilience of affected communities during times of crisis
Specific Objectives
Rapid assessment and response: Conduct quick assessments of the affected area to determine the immediate needs of the affected population and providing timely and appropriate assistance.
Life-saving interventions: Deliver essential life-saving assistance such as food, water, shelter, medical aid, and emergency healthcare services to affected individuals, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly.
Protection and safety: Ensure the safety and protection of affected individuals, particularly those at risk of violence, exploitation, or abuse though provision of safe spaces, psychosocial support, and promoting the rights and well-being of affected individuals.
Coordination and collaboration: Collaborate with local authorities, other NGOs, and relevant stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and effective response to the emergency by sharing information, resources, and expertise to maximize the impact of the response efforts.
Early recovery and resilience building: Support affected communities in their recovery process by providing assistance for livelihoods, education, and infrastructure rehabilitation while promoting community resilience and disaster risk reduction through capacity building and awareness programs.
Advocacy and policy influence: Advocate for the rights and needs of affected populations, raising awareness about the impact of emergencies, and influencing policies and practices at local, national, and international levels to improve emergency response and preparedness.
Monitoring and evaluation: Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the emergency response program to assess the effectiveness and impact of the interventions to help identify areas for improvement and ensures accountability to the affected populations and donors.
Evidence Based Research Programs
Goal 5: Generate high-quality and reliable evidence that can inform and improve the organization's programs, policies, and interventions.
Specific Objectives
Knowledge generation: Conducting research studies and evaluations to generate new knowledge and insights relevant to the NGO’s mission and focus areas by conducting surveys, interviews, focus groups, or experimental studies to gather data and evidence.
Program evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness and impact of the NGO’s existing programs and interventions by measuring outcomes and indicators to determine whether the programs are achieving their intended goals and making a positive difference in the lives of the target population.
Evidence synthesis: Systematically reviewing and synthesizing existing research and evidence from various sources, such as academic literature, reports, and evaluations to help in identifying best practices, lessons learned, and evidence-based interventions that can be incorporated into the NGO’s programs and policies.
Policy advocacy: Using research findings and evidence to advocate for policy changes or improvements at the local, national, or international levels by leveraging on the evidence generated to influence policymakers, raise awareness about critical issues, and advocate for evidence-based approaches and interventions.
Capacity building: Strengthening the research capacity within the NGO by providing training and support to staff members in research methodologies, data collection, analysis, and interpretation to ensure high-quality research outputs.
Dissemination and knowledge sharing: Sharing research findings, reports, and evidence with relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and the public through publications, conferences, workshops, online platforms, and collaborations with other organizations, thereby contributing to the wider knowledge base and fostering evidence-based decision-making.
Advocacy Programs
Goal 6: Promote positive change in society by influencing public opinion, policies, and practices aimed at raising awareness, driving action, and bring about systemic changes that address social problem.
Specific Objectives
Policy Change: influence the development or modification of policies and laws that affect displaced communities by conducting research, analyzing existing policies, and making recommendations for change.
Public Awareness: increase public awareness and understanding of social problems through organizing campaigns, events, or educational programs to disseminate information, raise public consciousness, and build support for displaced people’s issues.
Stakeholder Engagement: engage and mobilize key stakeholders, such as decision-makers, government officials, community leaders, and individuals directly by building relationships, fostering partnerships, and creating platforms for dialogue and collaboration.
Resource Mobilization: securing funding, attracting volunteers, and building a sustainable support base to sustain advocacy efforts over the long term.
Capacity Building: strengthening the capacity of individuals and communities to engage in advocacy activities by providing training, technical assistance, and resources to empower advocates/activities to effectively communicate their message, engage with decision-makers, and promote change.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Advocacy programs should monitor and evaluate the impact of their efforts to assess the effectiveness of their strategies and adjust their approach if necessary. This objective involves collecting data, measuring outcomes, and using evidence to refine advocacy strategies and demonstrate the program’s impact.
Civil Society Organisations Capacity strengthening Programs
Goal 7: Enhance CSO’s effectiveness, sustainability, and impact to enable them to better fulfill their missions and efficiently serve their target audience serve their beneficiaries.
Specific Objectives
Organizational Development: Enhancing the overall organizational capacity of CSOs by strengthening their governance structures, strategic planning, program management, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation systems.
Leadership and Governance: Building the leadership and governance skills of CSOs staff and board members, empowering them to effectively steer the organization, make informed decisions, and ensure accountability and transparency.
Financial Management: Improving financial management practices within CSOs, including budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and fundraising strategies. This objective aims to enhance the financial sustainability and accountability of NGOs.
Program Design and Implementation: Enhancing the capacity of CSOs to design and implement high-quality programs and projects aligned with their mission and objectives. This may include developing skills in needs assessment, project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Networking and Collaboration: Promoting networking and collaboration among CSOs, facilitating opportunities for knowledge sharing, learning, and partnerships. This objective aims to foster a culture of collaboration and cooperation among NGOs to maximize their collective impact.
Advocacy and Policy Engagement: Strengthening CSOs’ capacity to engage in advocacy and policy influencing activities to bring about positive change at the local, national, or international levels. This may involve training in policy analysis, advocacy strategies, and effective communication.
Technical Skills Enhancement: Providing technical training and support to NGOs in specific areas relevant to their work, such as human rights, gender equality, environmental conservation, health, education, or social development. This objective aims to enhance the technical expertise of NGOs and improve the quality of their interventions.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: Building the capacity of NGOs to monitor and evaluate their programs, measure their impact, and use data for evidence-based decision-making and learning. This objective promotes a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive management within NGOs.
Sustainability and Resource Mobilization: Strengthening NGOs’ ability to mobilize resources, diversify funding sources, and develop sustainable financial models. This objective aims to reduce their dependency on external funding and increase their long-term viability.
